"Ondulations" pattern centerpiece silver-plated tazza. Designed by the celebrated French artistic director Luc Lanel for Maison Christofle, circa 1930–1935. Luc Lanel served as Christofle’s artistic director during the height of the Art Deco movement. This specific design features a central footed pedestal constructed of sweeping, wavy silver ribbons flanking a central turned wood sphere, which is an iconic hallmark of Lanel's avant-garde table styling.
The geometric ripples and stepped waves of the "Ondulations" collection were famously chosen to decorate the grand first-class dining rooms and luxury bars of the legendary French ocean liner, the S.S. Normandie, in 1935.
Stamped Christofle. with silver hallmarks, numbers 3 and 6 on the underside.
