Northern Italian Neoclassical Walnut Inlaid Marquetry Commode, Chest of Drawers
A Northern Italian neoclassical Inlaid commode or chest of drawers in walnut with marquetry and parquetry inlay of satinwood and kingwood; the rectangular top with two diamond shaped inlays, inset with a geometric motif and the whole bordered by a wonderful graphic pattern, the side panels with repeating decoration. The body is fitted with 2 long drawers with the similar diamond shaped motif bordered by graphic and geometric motif; the whole supported on tapering legs. A wonderfully handsome addition to a bedroom, living room or large foyer. The woods are incredibly rich in color and pattern is bold and dramatic.
